In Colombia, it is found in the regions of Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Tolima, and Huila, between 1,400 and 2,300 masl, with temperature ranges between 15 and 20ºC. Has an oval or round shape, is between 4 and 10 cm in diameter, juicy and with fiber. Its skin is thick and inedible. Its pulp contains many small seeds along with a yellow, orange or greenish substance. This exotic fruit makes it a great fruit to maintain insulin levels for diabetics, reduces muscular and headaches due to its properties.
