These beautifully handcrafted bowls are made from coconut shells from the uniquely tropical coconut tree found in abundance in Southeast Asia. The shells are essentially a bi-product (or waste) after their coconut oil, flesh and water has been extracted. Our artisans start by carefully selecting, cutting, cleaning and sanding the coconut shells. The outside surface is simply sanded down smoothly and varnished to reveal the beautiful and natural grain of the shell. They are then each individually and meticulously hand-painted or decorated with mother-of-pearl (shell) segments to create unique and stunning designs. Finally, the inside design is coated with several coats of clear food-safe lacquer to give them their nice shine. The outer side of the coconut bowl is then finished with lacquer finish. Being a natural product, each bowl is unique in shape but they are typically approximately 13cm in diameter and 6cm high. Each design motif comes in a variety of colors to suit every decorative environment in a home or office. Whilst the coconut bowls themselves are quite strong, we do not suggest that they are placed in the dishwasher. Simply hand-wash and dry them after use.

Coconut shell charcoal is the by-product of pyrolysis process which involves burning coconut shells in a limited supply of oxygen in order to carbonize it first. After that, coconut shell charcoal is crushed into powder and mixed with adhesive to manufacture different shapes and size of charcoal briquettes. For centuries, people in World have recognized the use of coconut shells not only as a natural raw material to produce handicrafts, but also as an alternative to traditional lump charcoal, to improve and prolong the heat produced for cooking.
A young coconut is a coconut which is harvested before it is fully mature. Young coconuts are also known as green or tender coconuts, depending on regional preferences, and they are harvested both for their flesh and for the liquid inside, which is known as coconut juice or water. When cut open, a young coconut has very tender coconut meat which may still be in a slightly gelatinous form, along with the nutrient-rich coconut water. Coconut water can be consumed plain or blended with other ingredients as a treat, and the meat of young coconuts is also eaten. Generally comes in green but ones from Sri Lanka can be orange or green. Can be supplied with the full skin or semi-cut for easier packing and cutting. MOQ: 18 MT We can supply this from India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, etc.
