kaolin, also called china clay, soft white clay that is an essential ingredient in the manufacture of china and porcelain and is widely used in the making of paper, rubber, paint, and many other products. Kaolin is named after the hill in China (Kao-ling) from which it was mined for centuries. Samples of kaolin were first sent to Europe by a French Jesuit missionary around 1700 as examples of the materials used by the Chinese in the manufacture of porcelain. In its natural state kaolin is a white, soft powder consisting principally of the mineral kaolinite, which, under the electron microscope, is seen to consist of roughly hexagonal, platy crystals ranging in size from about 0.1 micrometre to 10 micrometres or even larger. These crystals may take vermicular and booklike forms, and occasionally macroscopic forms approaching millimetre size are found. Kaolin as found in nature usually contains varying amounts of other minerals such as muscovite, quartz, feldspar, and anatase. In addition, crude kaolin is frequently stained yellow by iron hydroxide pigments. It is often necessary to bleach the clay chemically to remove the iron pigment and to wash it with water to remove the other minerals in order to prepare kaolin for commercial use.

Kaolin is a naturally occurring mineral used in oral & topical pharmaceutical formulations and is generally regarded as an essentially non-toxic and non-irritant material. Due to its origins in Chinese clay mixtures, it is sometimes referred to as China clay. It is used in various facial products and treatments. It has been specially designed for formulations where bacteria control, purity and high whiteness are required. For - Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics Industries Grade - BP / USP
Our company for very different mineral product line (kaolin, manganese dioxide, talc, sepiolite, zeolite, graphite) is producing or has supplied and are one of the leading firms in Turkey on this issue. "Kaolin" is a raw material characterized by the only mineral such as Ca and Na montmoryonite (bentonite) among the clay raw materials, in other words kaolinite mineral. In industrial use, it is included in the statistics under "kaolin" as "calcined". Raw materials in which kaolinite is enriched among kaolinitic clays are included as "kaolin" and others are included in clay raw materials, regardless of their origin. For example, although ball lock is a kaolinitic clay, enrichment as "kaolin" is both very difficult and industrially unnecessary. With its non-clay minerals, other clays (illite-smectite group) and organic matter content, ball clay is a very good kaolinitic clay raw material with high plasticity. Brightness, abrasiveness, viscosity and grain size distribution-max grain size-shape of the produced kaolins and their rheology (water + clay behavior) are very important. All these properties are determined by the formation conditions of kaolin and developed by post-production processes.

Kaolinite is a clay mineral, part of the group of industrial minerals with the chemical composition Al2Si2O5(OH)4. It is a layered silicate mineral, with one tetrahedral sheet of silica linked through oxygen atoms to one octahedral sheet of alumina octahedra. White, sometimes red, blue or brown tints from impurities
Kaolin also called china clay, is an industrial clay mineral, which is generally used for its whiteness along with other properties. It is an essential ingredient in the manufacturing of porcelain, white-wares, paper, paint, and different types of tiles. Hariom Minechem offer more than 8 grades of kaolin, which is extracted from 3 different mining locations in India. On the other hand, Hariom Minechem also has a range of imported kaolins from various sources around the globe. The company is also the only authorised of the famous Iran China Clay company. We give immense attention to the quality of production of kaolin, in order to remove impurities and preserve its qualities, for which it is used for. Following characteristics can be found in our kaolin: Exceptional fired whiteness High casting rate Good unfired strength Low residue Feel Free to contact us for best quote.

When kaolin is mixed with water in the range of 20 to 35 percent, it becomes plastic (i.e., it can be molded under pressure), and the shape is retained after the pressure is removed. With larger percentages of water, the kaolin forms a slurry or watery suspension.

Buy Clay from Expert Suppliers * Shree Trading and Services are the Eminent Clay Suppliers with experience in procuring the best quality Clays, which has a unique combination of materials to shape and mold in different ways. * With our enormous industry research-based experience, technicalities, and specifications, we have become experts in selecting the most suitable form of Clays that has a wide range of uses that meets the customer's priorities and projects. * Depending upon the soil contents, Clays are available in a comprehensive range of colors from white to dull grey or brown to deep orange-red. There are several varieties of clays but are similar due to plasticity when it contains moist contents, strong and hard if it is dried to high temperature. * The Two different types of clay that Shree Trading & Services offers based on the properties required for various applications are: Ball Clay Kaolin Clay Ball Clay * Ball clays are kaolinite rich secondary clay which is available in dark brown to black color due to relatively high organic impurity content. * It is a high plastic clay and contains more fine particles. It is also known as PLASTIC CLAY. Ball clays are characterized by higher plasticity, dry shrinkage and dry strength as compared to China clays. Main features include high plasticity due to fine particles which give high green strength for handling the product at the green stage. Requires much more deflocculant to get required fluidity compared to china clay because of fine particles and organic impurities. High Green MOR compared to china clay due to more fine particles. Fired shrinkage is comparatively more due to high loss on ignition and particle size distribution Applications Since Clay has the feature of the permanent physical and chemical phenomenon, and it is widely used in various industries to manufacture numerous products. Clay is also a key ingredient material for building techniques, which is utilized for construction purposes. Some of the known uses of Clay includes: Used as a raw material in sanitary ware production. Ceramic building material Used as a Raw material in Refractory Production Pottery making (both utilitarian and decorative) Technical Specifications Name Description Product Name Clay Type Ball Clay , Kaolin Clay Material Clay Balls /Lumps / Powdered Clay Application Ceramics, Sanitary Ware, White Wash, Porcelain, Cosmetics, papermaking, toothpaste, Insulators.
