Bath Material is the electrolyte used in the Hall-Haroult process to produce primary aluminium. It's also known as Secondary Cryolite, Crushed Bath, Bath Cryolite, Pure Bath, Bath and tapped Bath Material. During the aluminium smelting process, surplus Bath Material can be generated because of high Sodium (Na) content in the alumina. This surplus is tapped in a liquid form and then crushed to be reused to start up new pots or to compensate for electrolyte losses. Bath Material can also be used in aluminium scrap recycling as well as in a number of other processes such as in the manufacture of glass, enamel, ceramics and more. Iron ores are rocks and minerals from which metallic iron can be economically extracted. The ores are usually rich in iron oxides. Ores containing very high quantities of hematite or magnetite, typically greater than about 60% iron, are known as natural ore or direct shipping ore, and can be fed directly into iron-making blast furnaces.
The pellets are used in the production of steel, which is used in the construction of bridges, cars, planes, bicycles, household appliances and much more. But, before this, the ore goes through a blast furnace that only works when air can circulate freely. For this reason, the material needs to be big enough so that there are spaces between each piece. On top of this, the ore needs to be strong enough not to be crushed thereby obstructing the blast furnace. Thus, the production of pellets is fundamental to the steel production process
