Areas Grown in Kenya Basil in Kenya grows well in Meru and Nakuru as they meet the wet and hot patterns of growing basil as it requires plenty of water and direct sunlight for eight hours daily. Basil grows well in drained soils that contain rich nutrients. The plant can be grown indoors in greenhouses.
