Hpma is a low molecular weight polymeride, with average molecular weight 400-800. No toxicity, soluble in water, high chemical and thermal stability, decomposed temperature above 330íµ. Hpma has obvious threshold effect under high temperature (350íµ) and high phú¿8.3ú¬level, suitable to be used in alkaline water system or built with agents. It has good scale inhibition against carbonate and phosphate scales under temperature 300íµ with effective time as long as 100 hours. Polyacrylamide is called as PAM for short and it is polymerized by the acrylamide monomer. PAM is a kind of linear water-soluble polymer matter. With different techniques and functional groups, products with different types of charge can be obtained, including the anionic polyacrylamide (APAM), cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM), non polyacrylamide (NPAM) and amphoteric polyacrylamide (ACPAM). The average molecular weight of PAM ranges from thousands to millions and it is the high-molecular electrolyte. It is the white power or granule, and it can be dissolved in the water easily but not the common organic solvents including the benzene, ether, ester, acetone, etc.. The aqueous solution of polyacrylamide is the thick liquid, and it is non-toxic and non-corrosive. The solid PAM is hygroscopic, and the hygroscopicity is improved with the increasing of ionic degree.
Use characteristics
1) Flocculability: The PAM plays the role of flocculation for the suspended matter through electrical neutralization, bridging and adsorption.
2) Adhesivity: It has the adhesive effect based on the mechanical, physical and chemical role.
3) Resistance reducing: PAM can effectively reduce the frictional resistance of fluid, and adding a minute amount of PAM into water can reduce the resistance by 50-80%.
4) Thickening: PAM has the effect of thickening both under the neutral and acid conditions. When the pH is greater than 10, PAM can have the easy hydrolysis. Besides, the effect of thickening will be more obvious when the PAM has the semi-mesh structure.
Anionic Polyacrylamide: It is the white powder. The APAM with the molecular weight of 4,000,000-26,000,000 has good water solubility, and it can be dissolved in water by arbitrary proportion but not in organic solvents. It has the characteristics of high-polymer electrolyte in the neutral and alkaline medium, and it is sensitive to the electrolyte salt. And it can be cross-linked into insoluble gel with the high valence metal ions.
Use: (1) Industrial waste water treatment:
For the neutral or alkaline waste water with pH value of 7-14, large suspended particles and ions of positive charge, it has the best treating effect, such as the waste water from iron industry, electroplating factory, metallurgical industry, coal washing, etc..
(2) Drinking water treatment:
When the drinking water still does not meet the standard after the treatment of the precipitation and filtering, then the APAM can be used as the flocculant. Its dosage is 2%-5% of that of the inorganic flocculants, but the effect of former is dozens of times of that of latter.
(3) It can be used for the recycling of the loss of brewers' grains in the alcohol plant and starch in the starch factory.
(4) It can be used as the water block agent in the oil field, and also the oil-displacing agent during the tertiary recovery.
(5) It can be applied in the paper-making industry. It can be used as the dispersant, retention aid, etc. in the long fiber paper-making, and also the flocculant for the waste water from the paper-making.

Usage:
As nonoxidizing boicide, dosage of 50-100mg/L is preferred; as sludge remover, 200-300mg/L is preferred, adequate organosilyl antifoaming agent should be added for this purpose. This product can be used together with other fungicidal such as isothiazolinones, glutaraldegyde, dithionitrile methane for synergism, but cannot be used together with chlorophenols.
