The sugar carbon produces good hardness and high internal surfance area with optimum pore size to adsorb color bodies and odor molecules from solution. It is acid washed to reduce ash and iron content which ensures the safer and cleaner treated solution. The carbon can be reactivated by thermal activation to reduce the overall cost.
The acid washed sugar carbon is used in organic sugar refining and decolorisation and purification of chemical industry such as lyrcine. succinic , organic esters soda ash etc
