Fully Drawn Yarn or FDY is a variety of Highly drawn filament and is widely processed in manufacturing of fabrics and other textile needs.
The process of manufacturing FDY is quite similar to POY except for the fact that while drawing, the speed is at much higher spinning speeds than POY.
Using and employing FDY in weft or warp during the production process is common. FDY can be woven or knitted with any other filament to get different varieties of fabrics. Some common and wide use of FDY are home furnishing products, terry towels, fashion related fabrics and more.
ATY or Air Textured yarn comes in two two types of fibres- Polyester ATY and Nylon ATY. Air Textured yarn is used to provide a distinct look and feel to any fabric. It comes in fairly large range of deniers like 20d-700d so it can be used to make any fabric from simple lightwear fabric to heavy duty fabric used in and outside of a luggage.
One can find a large range of applications of Air Textured Yarn (ATY). It is also used in garment manufacturing of various kinds like swimwear and sports wear. ATY also comes in a host of colors and is often reffered to as dope dyed yarn or dope dyed ATY.
