It is then passed through a heated die, which determines the finished productâ??s sectional geometry and finish. In terms of strength and weight, the profiles generated with this method may compete with typical metal profiles composed of steel and aluminium. Liquid resin systems can be tailored to give specific performance by adding various additives. Alumina trihydrate is a filler that is used to prevent the formation of flames and smoke. UV radiation screens for increased weather-ability, antimony oxide for flame untoward incidents, pigments for colour, and low-profile agents for surface smoothness and crack suppression qualities are examples of special purpose additives.
