China Clay
China Clay is a naturally hydrated Aluminum Silicate. It is one of the most abundantly available clay in the Earth scrust. Pure grade of China clay or kaolin clay produce by the processes of levigating. China Clay is also called â??KAOLINâ??, it is one of the essential Raw materials for Ceramic Industries, China Clay does not swell on adding water & Alumina present in Clay do not form Isomorphism series with any other metallic compound. China clay products are immensely used in the manufacturing of ceramics, papers, paint colors, vitrified tiles, soap, ultramarine and in various other purposes. As per requirement Custom sizes and Material of required specifications can be made in case of Bulk and Regular orders TYPICAL CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF CHINA OR KAOLIN CLAY Index Compound Unit Result 1. Ball clay is a silicate clay rock of which kaolinite is the main constituent: Al2Si2O5(OH)4. Ball clays are kaolinitic clays in the family of silicate minerals. It commonly consists of kaolinite, mica, quartz silica, as well as few organic matters. Ball clay is formed from the weathering and transportation by water of parent rocks. Seams in the same deposit may vary in composition, depending on the quantity of the principal and accessory minerals. Ball clays are fine-grained, highly plastic clays, which are principally used in the manufacture of ceramic whiteware and sanitaryware where they are appreciated for their plasticity, unfired strength and their light colour on firing. Selected clays can even give pure white end products. Among others, ball clays are also used in refractories, in polymers, in adhesives and sealants and in horticulture as soil amendments. Ball clay is particularly valued as a base material in the manufacture of ceramics. Combined with kaolin, ball clays provide the cohesion and workability necessary for the creation of ceramic parts such as sanitaryware. While using it with kaolin, feldspar and quartz in tableware, ball clay confers high plasticity and a good white-fired colour to the end product. In wall and floor tiles, ball clays are prized for their plasticity and bonding properties. In glazes and engobes, they ensure a perfect finish. Electrical porcelain insulators Ball contain plastic clays to provide insulation from high voltage currents. BALL CLAY produced by Peekay Minerals are having the following charactsitics High plasticity High unfired mechanical strength Highly controlled rheological properties Controlled organic content Controlled residue Excellent workability End Users usually ask the following test results L Value firing test of whiteness Dry MOR Fired MOR at 1180 deg cent Water of Plasticity Shrinkage Sieve Analysis

Activated clays are the most utilized minerals and considered very efficient and economical sorbents according to their chemical and physical properties. Clays are enjoying rapid popularity in the petroleum refining industry for the various processes such as adsorption and separation. Removal of many components such as sulfur, heavy metals, colors and separation of different hydrocarbon groups of crude oil and petroleum fractions can be carried out by clay adsorption. The using of clay as adsorbent in several petroleum refining processes such as desulphurization, deasphalting, waste oil recovery, bleaching, corrosion reduction, heavy metals removal and other. One of the simplest, easiest and efficient separation processes used in different industries is adsorption Results show that different types of clay are obtainable and used in many applications. Clay adsorption can be enhanced the treatment and finishing of crude oils and petroleum fractions through several modifications such as metals impregnation, acid and thermal activations. Fullers earth clays promote the highest adsorption capacity to remove sulfur and a high bleaching potential and effective in decolorization and neutralization any petroleum oil.Clays promote the highest removal efficiency of Ni and V from crude oil. Additionally, the adsorption pre-treatment affects the reduction in corrosion yields and the corrosion rate.
China Clay or Kaolin is one of the purest form of clays, composed chiefly of the mineral kaolinite, usually formed when granite is changed by hydrothermal metamorphism. Kaolinite is a clay mineral, part of the group of industrial minerals, with the chemical composition Al2Si2O5(OH)4. It is a layered silicate mineral, with one tetrahedral sheet of silica (SiO4) linked through oxygen atoms to one octahedral sheet of alumina (AlO6) octahedra. Kaolinite has a low shrink - swell capacity and a low cation-exchange capacity (1–15 meq/100 g). It is a soft, earthy, usually white mineral (dioctahedral phyllosilicate clay), produced by the chemical weathering of aluminium silicate minerals like feldspar. In many parts of the world, it is colored pink-orange-red by iron oxide, giving it a distinct rust hue. Lighter concentrations yield white, yellow or light orange colors. Commercial grades of kaolin are supplied and transported as dry powder, semi-dry noodle or as liquid slurry. Salient Features Contributes in improving the chemical resistance, electrical properties and reduction in water absorption Lowers the crack tendency in the finished products Improves shock resistance as well as surface quality
Ball Clay is a variety of Kaolinite, like china-clay. It differs from china-clay in having high plasticity and less refractoriness. In chemical composition, ball and china clays do not differ greatly except that the former contains a larger proportion of silica. It has derived its name from the practice of removing it in the form of ball-like lumps from the clay pits in the UK. Ball clays are kaolinitic sedimentary clays that commonly consist of 20-80% kaolinite, 10-25% mica, 6-65% quartz. Localized seams in the same deposit have variations in composition, including the quantity of the major minerals, accessory minerals and carbonaceous materials such as lignite. They are fine-grained and plastic in nature, and, unlike most earthenware clays, produce a fine quality white-coloured pottery body when fired, which is the key to their popularity with potters. Ball clays are relatively scarce deposits due to the combination of geological factors needed for their formation and preservation.
