In 2015, Indonesia was still one of the world's largest nutmeg producers besides Guatemala, India, Nepal, and Laos. Nutmeg production in Indonesia reached 33,711 tons with a planted area of 168,904 ha (Director General of Plantations, 2016). Maluku and Papua are the largest nutmeg centers, followed by Aceh and North Sulawesi.
