It's commonly used as a calcium fortifier in various food products including beverages and supplements. It is also used as a preservative, when added to fresh-cut fruits, it keeps foods firm and extends the shelf life, without a bitter taste. Calcium lactate pentahydrate food grade is used in sugar-free foods to prevent tooth from decaying. When added to chewing gum containing xylitol, it increases the remineralization of tooth enamel. Itâ??s also used in dentifrices to avoid the loss of tooth enamel and remove tartar from tooth surface.
