History
Bengkulu is a province in the southwest of Sumatra, Indonesia. In ancient times, Bengkulu established many ethnic kingdoms, such as the Kingdom of Serut River, Kingdom of Selebar, Kingdom of Pat Petulai, etc., which eventually united under the Sultanate of Banten.
In 1685, the British East India Company (EIC) came to Bengkulu and later established the largest Pepper Trade center in Indonesia. After all this time, finally the British handed over Bengkulu to the Netherlands for management.
Bengkulu land is very fertile, so it is very good for plantation products, especially coffee. In Bengkulu there is a tradition of drinking coffee when traditional parties are held from the gardens of each family member. The unique taste and aroma makes Bengkulu coffee increasingly popular with coffee lovers.
