Interfacing, also known as stabilizer, is a light piece of fabric that is sewn or fused onto fabric pieces that need an added stiffness.Interfacings can be used to: -Stiffen or add body to fabric, such as the interfacing used in shirt collars -Strengthen a certain area of the fabric, for instance where buttonholes will be sewn -Keep fabrics from stretching out of shape, particularly knit fabrics Interfacings come in a variety of weights and stiff nesses to suit different purposes. Knitted fusible interlining Product Introduction Knitted fusible interlining with crosswise stretch for soft shaping and tailoring. Fusing-Knit, #1300, is a lightweight, fusible, tricot polyester interfacing that provides support, shape, and body for light- to medium-weight knits and woven. It's also appropriate for loose weave woven. Made of 100% polyester, this product has lengthwise stability and crosswise stretch. Its unique weave is smooth on one side and textured on the other. It offers soft support without any bulkiness or stiffness, yet prevents fabric from excess stretching. It easily fuses with a secure bond using an iron set to wool and a press cloth. Fusi-Knit is machine washable in warm water on the delicate cycle and should be tumbled dry on low.
