Double Glazing

Double-glazed units are often referred to as (DGU's) double-glazed units or (IGU's) insulated glass units.

Double Glazing consists of two pieces of glass with a spacer bar in between that creates an airspace, which is then sealed together producing a completely sealed insulated glass unit (IGU).

Orion-Glass Ltd produces unicameral and double cameral double glasses with clear glass, multilayer glass, tempered glass, toned and bent glass, unicameral and double cameral double glasses with low-emission glass (K-glass), (I-glass), arched and trapezoid double glasses and also double glasses with figured glass.

For double-glasses manufacturing we use high quality glass from the European manufacturers, of the mark M0. All double glasses pass the quality control according to the all-Union State Standard 24866-99 Pasted double glasses of the building function and the all-Union State Standard 111-2001 Sheet glass. Double glasses are the basis of the window. Window systems characteristics mainly depend from the quality of the double glasses. What the double glasses represent? This is the construction that consists from two or three sheets of glass, hermetically connected by means of the spacer that forms closed chambers. The chambers are filled in with dry air or rare gas that improves the thermal physic properties of the double glass. The distance between glasses in the double glass defines by the thickness of the remote frame that can have the following sizes, mm: 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24. As the dryer is used the highly porous matter, got in the remote frame that actively adsorbs steam.

The most popular are two types of the double glasses:

- unicameral (twin double-glass) this is the construction consists from two glasses. Between glasses are the thin-wall aluminum (so-called remote) frames with perforation that is filled in with special granules that absorb the air moisture inside of the double-glass and protects glasses from the sweat. The double glass, around the periphery, is pressurized by the special two-component mastic. That is why inside of the waterproof double glass there is no moisture, no dust, - the double glass always remains transparent and clear.


- double cameral (triple double-glass) - this is the construction consists from three glasses. Between glasses are the thin-wall aluminum (so-called remote) frames with perforation that is filled in with special granules that absorb the air moisture inside of the double-glass and protects glasses from the sweat. Features:
1. Low U-value, various SC-value to suit all regions, and reasonable SHGC and low RHG value.
2. Insulated glass panel can educe heat loss, save energy, thermal insulation, saving energy, sound proofing, solar control, lower UV radiation, make our house cooler in summer and warmer in winter, especially when filled with inert gas.
3. Sound insulation Insulated glass can lower the noise, if applied with laminated panel, 80 decibels of traffic noise could be as low as 45 decibels.
4. Anti-dew Desiccant keeps the dryness inside the spacer and resists forming of dew.
5. The use of Low-E in IGU's further reduces heat transfer; it keeps thermal radiation heat from leaving interiors while preventing infrared heat from the sun from entering. To both reduce heat transfer and increase solar control, it is ideal to have an interior low-e pane and exterior tinted or reflective pane. For maximum performance, the use of Argon gas in the middle space is recommended. Replacing Air with Argon reduces noise levels and heat transfer even further.
