Brief Description:
The cupuaçu is a tropical tree native to Amazon rainforest. Its related to cacao, the tree from which cocoa
beans are obtained, and it produces large and heavy oval fruits. Cupuaçu butter is made by cold-pressing the
seeds of the fruit, making a rich butter.
Cupuaçu butter is a soft and nourishing emollient, which provides a protective, hydrating layer for the skin
and hair. The butter consists of various beneficial fatty acids. Its also particularly useful as a vegan alternative
to animal-derived lanolin, and can also be used in our formulas to stabilize emulsions.
In Brazil, the pulp of Cupuau is also used in the food sector making excellent chocolates and the juices.
