Low-e glass provides excellent performance in situations where temperature separation is desired. Low-e is used to help energy saving requirements by blocking uv light and provide heat insulation. It is done with a special thin-film metallic and oxide coating. The coating prevents the passage of short-wave solar energy into a building also prevents long-wave energy produced by heating system and lighting from escaping outside.

Low-e glass Planibel g is a pyrolytic, low emissivity glass. The low-e coating is applied on a sheet of clear float glass by a pyrolytic process called cvd(chemical vapour deposition) process. In winter, the aim of the coating is to reflect the heat back to the building to prevent heat loss and keep the climate indoors at an even temperature. In summer, the coating will reduce the amount of re-radiated heat entering the house thereby keeping indoor cooler. Total heat gain is reduced.
