Due to its stability , it can often be used where other flame retardants fail to survive . Due to its polymeric structure , it is nonblooming in all applications . BROMINATED POLYSTYRENE Chemical Name: Brominated Polystyrene Brand Name:BPS Equivalent Grade: Saytex 3010/7010 CAS NO.: 88497-56-7 Chemical formula: (C8H5.3Br2.7)n Molecular Weight: Oligomer Application: BPS flame retardant is a highly effective brominated polystyrene product, It provides outstanding thermal stability and excellent flow properties.It is particularly suitable for engineering thermoplastics applications such as polyesters (PET, PBT,) and polyamides (nylons). BPS flame retardant have excellent resistance to yellowing at high temperatures. It is an ideal choice for high temperature applications. It is non blooming, insoluble in water and presents no bioaccumulationor dioxin/furan concerns.
Physical appearance:fine, white, crystalline powder, nontoxic, odourless ; in dissolvable in water and most organic solvents. Use: Melamine Cyanurate is a halogen-free flame retardant for polyamide. Melamine Cyanurate has established itself as the flame retardant to achieve UL 94 V-0 especially for polyamide 6 and 6,6. Addition of MCA gives PA6(66) good mechanical and electrical properties. Being halogen free also results in significant advantages in terms of fire safety, i.e. lower smoke density, lower smoke-toxicity and less corrosion.
Hexabromobenzene referred hbb, molecular weight 551.6. A white to pale yellow powder, melting point 327c and bromine content of 86%, the initial decomposition temperature of 220 and 340 c decomposition temperature. Hydrolytic stability is high, do not dissolve in water, ethanol-soluble, ether, benzene soluble.
