PION range of low voltage transformers comprise of double wound and custom designed transformers.

PION transformers are available in open enclosed, oil cooled models to suit the customer requirement.

Air cooled transformers are available in Open and Enclosed models. The enclosed models are supplied in sheet steel enclosures. Louvering is provided for the heat dissipation of the generated heat.

Oil cooled transformers are housed in MS Tank and provided with adequate pressed steel radiators to ensure proper heat dissipation Oil cooled units are available with standard accessories viz. oil level indicator, drain plug / drain valve, earth terminals, unidirectional CI wheels, Oil fill hole and terminal covers.

Types of Cooling:

1. Oil-cooled Transformers: These are totally maintenance free and can be used both indoor and outdoor. Oil-cooled transformers are available in two versions namely (a) with Off-load tap changer and (b) with ON-load tap changer.
2. Dry or Cast Resin Type Transformers: These are air-cooled, having an epoxy resin encasing the windings. These are ideal for indoor installation. However, because the moulds for casting the coils are available only in fixed sizes, the design of such transformers is less flexible; this may increase the cost of customized dry transformers.

Types of Transformers:

1. Power Transformers: These convert an AC voltage and current to a different voltage and current with great efficiency.
