Dhurrie is a form of Indian Carpet which uses the non-pile technique of weaving and combines a variety of materials and patterns to create a vibrant throw for the floor. Dhurries are made manually by skilled artisans on traditional horizontal & vertical looms Hand woven flat durries are made on a smaller medium-sized weaving loom. With weft fingers, the weaver picks up a specified number of threads on the wrap and insert the colored yarn that forms the weft, hit it down in the place with the help of a panja or heavy, multipronged metal fork.
