Duplex steel flanges are made from work hardenable alloys that are exceptionally corrosion-resistant. A blend of austenite and ferrite phases makes up their composition. As a result, qualities of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steel can be found in duplex steel flanges. While duplex stainless steel is resistant to stress corrosion cracking, it is not as robust as ferritic stainless steel to this type of assault. The corrosion resistance of the least resistant duplex stainless steel, on the other hand, is higher than that of the most generally used stainless steel grades, 304 and 316. Duplex stainless steel is extremely corrosion resistant. They have high resistance to intergranular corrosion.
