Olive oil is the oil that comes from the fruit of the olive tree (Olea europea). Virgin olive oil is produced by mechanical processing of the olive fruit in olive mills. It is a key element of the Mediterranean diet and is considered a healthy food product due to its content of monounsaturated fats, antioxidants, etc. Physical and chemical characteristics Crude virgin olive oil is a mixture of various ingredients. These can be distinguished into three categories: Glycerides, fat-soluble substances and water-soluble substances. They can also be distinguished into saponifiable and non-saponifiable components. Glycerides, which are also saponifiable components, are mainly triglycerides, i.e. esters of glycerol with fatty acids. The latter are mainly: oleic, palmitoleic, linoleic, stearic and palmitic. The first three are unsaturated fatty acids, and the other two are saturated Historical data In the Greek area, presses for the production of oil from olives and containers (jars) for oil storage dating from the Mycenaean era have been found. According to the excavations carried out in the Proto-Cycladic II (2,700-2,300 BC) cemetery of Spedos in 1903 by Klonos Stefanos, among the other finds, he mentions a silver-plated clay vessel which contained traces of spoiled olive oil. The careful research in the chemistry of the National University under Professor K. Zengeli proved, beyond doubt, the existence of olive oil. Klonos Stefanos (in the Proceedings of the Archaeological Society PAE 1906) notes that together with the silver-plated clay vessel, a triple clay oil lamp was found. Olive oil is referred to on a Linear B tablet from Knossos as erawo (oil) and on others with a special ideogram. Olive oil and health Olive oil contains high levels of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) as well as an abundance of bioactive components. Of these, the phenolic components are the most extensively studied. Regarding the benefits of MUFAs in human health, the US Food and Drink Administration authorized qualitative health claims (health claims), for the first time in 2004, regarding the protection offered by monounsaturated fatty acids of olive oil against cardiovascular risk diseases. Overall, the benefits of olive oil fatty acids were summarized at the first International Conference on Olive Oil and Health, in 2005. But olive oil is more than a rich source of monounsaturated fatty acids. Its phenolic components have shown anti-inflammatory and chemo-protective properties. Oleocanthal in olive oil has been found to have a similar effect to the anti-inflammatory drug ibuprofen. In none of the studies in which the role of phenolic components of olive oil has been examined, cytotoxicity has been shown.
Lamp oil made from vegetable oils, such as crude coconut oil l, offers an environmentally friendly and renewable alternative for lighting purposes. At SRRI KCC Oil Mills and Refineries, we take pride in producing high-quality lamp oil derived from carefully selected vegetable oils. Our lamp oil undergoes a specialized refining process to ensure optimal performance and a clean burning experience. Key features of our vegetable-based lamp oil include: Renewable and Sustainable: Vegetable oils used in the production of lamp oil are derived from renewable sources, making them an eco-friendly choice compared to petroleum-based alternatives. They contribute to reducing reliance on fossil fuels and minimizing environmental impact. Clean Burning: Lamp oil made from vegetable oils produces minimal smoke, soot, and odor when burned, resulting in a cleaner and more pleasant lighting experience. This clean burning characteristic ensures that the flame remains steady and free from disturbances. Low Viscosity: Lamp oil derived from vegetable oils typically has a low viscosity, allowing it to flow smoothly through the lamp's wick and ensuring efficient and consistent burning. High Flash Point: Vegetable-based lamp oil has a higher flash point compared to traditional petroleum-based lamp oils. This characteristic improves safety by reducing the risk of accidental ignition during storage and handling. Natural Fragrance Options: Some vegetable oils used in lamp oil production may offer natural fragrance options, adding a pleasant aroma to the environment when burned. However, it's important to note that fragrances may vary based on the specific vegetable oil used. Biodegradable: Lamp oil derived from vegetable oils is biodegradable, meaning it breaks down naturally over time, reducing its impact on the environment. Versatility: Vegetable-based lamp oil can be used in various types of oil lamps and lanterns, providing a reliable and sustainable light source for both indoor and outdoor settings. At SRRI KCC Oil Mills and Refineries, we ensure that our vegetable-based lamp oil meets rigorous quality control standards. Our commitment to excellence guarantees a high-quality product that combines the performance benefits of lamp oil with the environmental advantages of vegetable oils. Please note that specific formulations and characteristics may vary based on the vegetable oil used and the manufacturing process employed by different companies. It's advisable to refer to the product information provided by the specific manufacturer for detailed specifications on their vegetable-based lamp oil.

We Provide Best Quality Olive oil Where Olive oil is a liquid fat obtained from olives (the fruit of Olea europaea; family Oleaceae), a traditional tree crop of the Mediterranean Basin. The oil is produced by pressing whole olives. It is commonly used in cooking, whether for frying or as a salad dressing. It is also used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and soaps, and as a fuel for traditional oil lamps, and has additional uses in some religions. There is limited evidence of its possible health benefits. The olive is one of three core food plants in Mediterranean cuisine; the other two are wheat and grapes.
