In order to improve the yield of Schiff base, it is necessary to synthesize Schiff base by the reaction of 3,5-dibromosalicylic aldehyde with trimethylolminomethane, and reduce Schiff base with anhydrous ethanol at room temperature. The results showed that the molar ratio of 3,5-dibromosalicylic aldehyde to trihydroxymethylaminomethane was 1 â?¶ 1, the reaction time was 30 min, the molar ratio of sodium borohydride to 3,5-dibromosalicylic aldehyde trihydroxymethylaminomethane Schiff base was 1.5 1, and the yield of reduced Schiff base was 81.4%.
