The monitor records the electroencephalogram (eeg) with 3 surface electrodes attached to the forehead of the patient. The core technology of the monitor is the symbolic dynamics method. The combination of spectral ratios, symbolic dynamics eeg and suppression rate (esr) for analyzing the eeg gives a superior suppression of facial emg which otherwise could influence the index. 1.
