Working principle
This mixer consists of a container, helix mixing blades and transmission parts. The helix blades are in two or three tiers. The outer helix will move the material from its two sides to the central part, while the inner helix will transfer the material to the two sides, performing a kind of convection mixing.
Application scope
The ribbon mixer is generally used in mixing adhesive or cohesive powder granules and mixing processes in which liquid and pasty materials are added. It is especially suitable for mixing materials with a large quantity and whose types are not frequently changed because of the cleaning difficulties.
A ribbon blender consists of a U-shaped horizontal trough containing a double helical ribbon agitator that rotates within. The agitatorâ??s shaft is positioned in the center of the trough and has welded spokes on which the helical ribbons (also known as spirals) are welded. Since the ribbon agitator consists of a set of inner and outer helical ribbons, it is referred to as a â??double" helical ribbon agitator. The gap between the ribbonâ??s outer edge and the internal wall of the container ranges from 3 to 6 mm depending on the application. Blending large volumes of dry solids.
