Granular activated carbons are made from rigid raw materials, giving the necessary hardness to avoid excessive losses due to attrition and handling. They present large internal surface of pore structure, ensuring high adsorption power in specific purposes and uses. They are used in fixed or moving beds as columns where the liquid or gas passes through and gets purified. They can be used in liquid or gas phase continous adsorption process and offer unusual economy in cases where carbon regeneration is favorable. In liquid phase applications they remove colloids and organic substances that give undesirable odors, colors and taste to the products. They are efficiently used for water dechlorination in processes which require super chlorination as well as the removal of organic substances from the water. In vapor phase application they participate in the solvent recovery, adsorption of colors, purification of carbon di-oxide and catalyst support. They are also used to reduce the COD and BOD in effluent waste water. Granular activated carbon is produced from coconut shell charcoal by the process of steam activation. The coconut shell charcoal is fed into the rotary kiln and activated by steam at high temperatures resulting in the evaporation of impurities and opening up of pores on the surface. The resultant big particles are then crushed and sieved to get the desired particle size. Our main grades of granular activated carbon are given as under. We can customize the iodine value as well as the particle size according to your requirements
HiraChem is your specialist supplier of Granular Activated Carbon. Pure carbon which is gold recovery granular activated carbon is coconut-shell-based granular activated carbons specially designed for gold recovery operations. GR was developed to be a consistent, high performance, high activity gold recovery carbon product line. The activated carbon's ability to achieve high gold loadings and the relative ease with which they can be stripped enables gold processors to obtain the highest possible yields from ores with high silver/gold ratios, carbonaceous ores and ores containing other metals that complex with cyanide; for example, copper and nickel. In Carbon in Leach (CIL), Carbon in Pulp (CIP), and Carbon in Column (CIC) circuits, it is essential that the activated carbon employed provides excellent process performance, minimal losses due to attrition, and minimal maintenance problems. Through the years, Pure carbon has continually upgraded its manufacturing processes to ensure that it continues to provide high quality products. Steps have been added to the manufacturing process which have improved the carbon's resistance to abrasion and reduced its tendency to plug retention screens in adsorption tanks. Platelets (flatter granules which are relatively long and wide while not particularly thick) can end up oriented in such a manner that they pass through the retention screens. This results in a loss of gold-containing carbon, which directly affects percent recovery and pro stability. In order to have a product that has less tendency to plug screens with "platelets," GR is also processed through a vee-wire screen and deÃ?Âdusted. GR products are manufactured specifically for gold adsorption. As a result, the quality of the carbon is extremely consistent and tailored to gold recovery applications. GR activated carbon enable the extraction of even trace amounts of gold from every ton of ore, even when processing average or low-grade ores. Pure Carbon expertise in activated carbon application technology is a valuable resource for designing and optimizing.

We are exporter of Activated Carbon. Activated carbon made from raw organic material such as coconut shell. The raw material of activated carbon pulverized and sieved into appropriate and uniform particle sizes. Carbon has been used as an adsorbent for centuries. Activated carbon is a particularly good adsorbent due to its high surface area to volume ratio.
