AAC conductor is also known as aluminium stranded conductor. It is manufactured from electrolytically refined aluminium, with a minimum purity of 99.7%. AAC is used mainly in urban areas where the spacing is short and the supports are close. All aluminium conductors are made up of one or more strands of aluminium wire depending on the end usage. AAC is also used extensively in coastal regions because it has a high degree of corrosion resistance
AACSR is a concentrically stranded conductor composed of one or more layers of Aluminium -Magnesium -Silicon Alloy wire stranded around a high strength coated steel core. The core can be of either single wire or stranded multi wire. AACSR is available with steel core of Class A, B or C galvanizing or Aluminium clad (AW). Additional corrosion protection is available through the application of grease to the core or infusion of the complete cable with grease.
CCS cable is composed of copper clad steel. Solid or Concentric-lay-stranded conductors of copper-clad steel wires. A high strength steel wire with a 25% thick cross-section ratio of Copper cladding creating a high electrical conductivity, highly corrosive resistant and a thermal stability for high temperature operation and all with a lighter weight.
