Aluminium Fluoride is produced by reacting wet (3-7% H2O) Aluminium Hydroxide with the Hydrofluoric Acid gas in a one bed expanded fluid bed reactor.
Aluminium Fluoride produced in this process will achieve higher purity, lower content of impurity, especially the SiO2 only 0.02-0.05%, P2O5 0.007%, which will provide better performance in the application of primary Aluminium smelting.

It is a Colorless crystal or white powder with relative density of 3.148, mp 126 C,bp 2239 C. It is soluble in nitric acid, slightly soluble in diluted acid, insoluble in water and alcohol.
Applications It is used as flux of smelting magnesium, as additive of electrolysis aluminium, in coating optical lenses and filter, in coating agent of titanium pigment, in fluorescent agent of cathode ray screen. It is also used in ceramic and glass industry.
