HOLSTEIN
Holsteins are large cattle with distinctive colour patterns of red and white or black and white. These cows can reach a height of 150cm tall and weigh over 600kgs. Holstein heifers can inseminate at around 12 months. The average productive life of a Holstein is, four years. Holstein Friesian cows produce the largest quantities of milk, some producing up to 15,000 litters a year on a feedlot system production.
