Sodium perborate tetrahydrate is an important ingredient of many household laundry detergent powders, laundry bleach additive products and automatic machine dishwash powders.Unlike sodium percarbonate and sodium perphosphate, perborate is not just an addition compound of peroxide, but contains true peroxygen bonds, Sodium perborate tetrahydrate has good storage stability when blended with many ingredients of formulated products for use in temperate climates. When used in laundry powders, sodium perborate tetrahydrate provides a stable, cost effective source of active oxygen.
Sodium perborate monohydrate is dehydrated from perborate tetrahydrate, it is widely used in hot climates, or in markets where the washing is carried out in cool water. Sodium perborate monohydrate is particularly suitable for use at high ambient temperatures. The high rate of dissolution, ideal for use in cold wash temperatures ensures a rapid release of hydrogen peroixde into solution, providing rapid generation of peracid from the bleach activators being used (Typically known as TAED: TetraAcetylEthyleneDiamine, NOBS or DECOBS). This ensures that the bleach works throughout the whole wash cycle. Sodium perborate is also ideal for use in tablet formulations due to its high available oxygen content, and a low moisture content.
Product Application
Microbes can be used in soil cleanup and magnesium peroxide is used to enhance aerobic bioremediation
Magnesium peroxide is a fine powder peroxide with a white to white-off color. It is similar to calcium peroxide because magnesium peroxide also releases oxygen by breaking down at a controlled rate with a hydrous fluid. Besides this it can be used in bleaching, disinfecting, and deodorizing. Magnesium peroxide being environmentally benign and its stable oxygen release are used widely in the cosmetic, agricultural, pharmaceutical, and environmental industries. It is used to reduce contaminant levels in groundwater. Magnesium peroxide is used in the bioremediation of contaminated soil and can improve the soil quality for plant growth and etabolism.Magnesium Peroxide has a very low solubility in water which allows the product to continue to release its active oxygen content for many months. The duration of oxygen release depends upon many factors including soil type, its pH and buffering capacity, kind of contaminants and their concentration, the presence of other organics or metals in the soil, etc It also used in the aquaculture industry for bioremediation.
In the field of Oil/gas drill fluid Industry, magnesium peroxide is also used as polymer breaker, when breaking the viscosity created by polymer like xanthan gum etc, this kind of new type of polymer breaker should be considered, and it have a signficant effect on viscosity with short time for de-polymerization.
