Expanded metal grating is made of steel plate which is slit and expanded in a cold-drawing operation. It is a heavy duty expanded metal, produced from carbon steel, aluminum, or stainless steel plate.
Expanded metal grating contains no joints or welds, each sheet is a single piece of sturdy steel. Each sheet is produced from low carbon steel plates up to 5/16" thick. The junctions of the strand and bond form a ridged surface for improved tractions. Grating is formed like a truss so that every inter-connecting strand acts as a structural member distributing the load stress in several directions across the supporting frame.
