We manufacture charcoal briquettes form agricultural residue mostly coconut shell, that burn longer, do not spark, there is no odour and no smoke.
ArSta Eco Biochar briquettes comes in three shapes-Pillow, Oval and Hexagonal. Pillow and Oval Shaped briquettes are roll formed and the Hexagonal briquettes are extruded. The process of manufacturing briquettes is as follows.
- Collection of agricultural residue feedstock.
- Segregating and grading
- Drying
- Carbonizing
- Pulverizing
- Mixing with Binder and forming
- Drying
- Packing
Our Biochar briquettes comes in the following two specifications.
Our charcoal briquettes stand out from the competition because of the following reasons.
- Feed-stock is all agricultural farm residue and is renewable and sustainable
- Our carbonization process using our proprietary reactor is environmentally clean with no greenhouse gas emissions. The entire process is carbon negative.
- The quality of the carbonized biomass is of very high grade with fixed carbon in excess of 72% and very low ash.
- We use a natural starch binder and there are no chemical additives
- We have a two stage drying process which ensure a bone dry product.

Specification:
Biochar is a carbon-rich product made from renewable agricultural waste residue like coconut shells, corn cobs, cotton stalk, coconut husk, fronds, bagasse etc. It is produced by pyrolysis (heating in the absence of oxygen) that acts as a sustainable and permanent soil amendment. Research findings and experience on the field show that there is an increase in crop yields by using Biochar Soil amendment.
It is a soil amendment that is plowed-in only once and has a lasting effect for centuries.
Biochar enhances soil fertility by stimulating biological activity, improving soil nutrient and water retention, and also increasing organic matter.
It is completely sustainable as the biomass comes from readily available and sustainable agricultural waste. Furthermore, the carbon in the biochar becomes locked up in the soil, removing carbon from the atmosphere.
The main scientifically approved reasons that biochar amendments have resulted in measurable improvements in soil productivity are that it:
Enhances soil biology (40% increase in mycorrhizal fungi)
Improves nutrient retention in soils (50% increase in Cation Exchange Capacity)
Improves the water retention capacity of soils (up to 18% increase)
Increases the pH of acidic soils (1 point pH increase)
Increases soil organic matter

Coconut Shell Charcoal is an important product obtained from coconut shell. Coconut Shell charcoal is used widely as domestic and industrial fuel. It is also used by foundries and goldsmiths. Coconut Shell Charcoal is also used to produce activated carbon. Activated Carbon produced from coconut shell has certain specific advantages as the raw material can adsorb certain molecules and because of its density retains good strength and physical properties. ArSta eco Coconut Shell is carbonized by using destructive distillation process which produces a very superior product. Our shell charcoal is manufactured by processing shells of fully matured nuts in a modern carbonisation reactor wherein the process is clean and has a carbon negative footprint.
Our Coconut Shell Charcoal Specification is as below. We can also produce higher grade charcoal based on the specifications provided by clients.
Fixed carbon : 78% (minimum)
Volatile matter : 15% (maximum)
Ash : 2 % (maximum)
Moisture : 10% (maximum)
Size : Natural or Granulated
Colour : Uniformly black
Our Hookah Shisha charcoal is produced from Coconut shell. Coconut shell charcoal is the most preferred for hookah shisha because of its uniform burn, low ash, high temperature, no odour and long burn time. Our factory is based in the coconut cultivating hub of South India where there is plenty of coconut shells available.
The process that we follow is :
Collection of coconut shells from farmers, segregation and cleaning.
Carbonizing the coconut shells using our carbonization reactor. (Conversion to high grade coconut shell charcoal)
1. Pulverizing the coconut shell charcoal into fine powder
2. Mixing with a natural starch (we use cassava starch)
3. Forming into cubes (we produce both pressed cubes and extruded cubes)
ArSta eco Hookah Shisha charcoal cubes comes with the following specifications :
Moisture: max 5%
Ash content: max 5%
Volatile: max 12%
Fixed carbon: min 78%
Gross calorific value: min 7200 kcal/kg
Ignition time: max 10 minutes over gas stove
Time of burn: min 90 minutes
Dimensions : Cube 2.5cms * 2.5cms * 2.5cms
We can also produce to other specifications as required by clients.

Coco peat is a by-product which is left over from the milling of coconut husks to obtain the fibers. Coco peat which was earlier disposed as a waste product has become a popular growing medium due to its unique features. Coco Peat growing mediums over the years have proven itself to be a huge success & have acquired a market share in the growing medium trade superseding many other mediums performing beyond expectation.
Today coco peat growing medium have become one of the most sort after & versatile growing medium that can be applied to any variety of plant both in agriculture, horticulture & floriculture. Coco peat or pith are similar to saw dust and are available in abundance in nature. In order to facilitate easy logistics it is conveniently compressed into blocks of various sizes. Normally they come in 650 grams bricks and bales of five kilo and ten kilo blocks.
