Heavy melting steel is a designation for recyclable steel. It is categorised into two major categories: HMS 1 and HMS 2. The difference between the two is HMS 1 does not contain galvanized and cast iron, whereas HMS 2 does. Because both grades guarantee a minimum piece thickness â?? at least 1/4inch (6.3mm) for HMS 1, and 1/8 in for HMS 2 â?? consignments have a high density. Heavy Melting Steel Scrap 1&2 (80:20) Specifications: HMS No.1 complies with ISRI 200-202, and HMS No.2 complies with ISRI 203-206, consisting of a minimum of 80% HMS1 and a maximum of 20% HMS2. The goods are: Free from toxic chemicals, radioactive materials, explosives, organic matter originating from animals or plants, epidemic disease risks, or medical waste. Free from bombs, arms, ammunition, mines, shells, cartridges, gas cylinders, or any other form of explosive material.
