- The Approved Sand shall either be natural marine sand or sand manufactured/processed from land-based natural materials.
- The Approved Sand shall be regular and angular grain shaped with ALL the following properties:
(a) Angle of shearing resistance: at least 32° corresponding to a relative density of 35% and within the following limits:
- BS 8I2, Part 103 Test Sieve Size/Percentage by weight passing through sieve
- 0.06 mm/0 to 10
- 0.2mm/0 to 40
- 0.6mm/10 to 85
- 0.9mm/15 to 95
- 1.18mm/22 to 100
- 2mm/40 to 100
- 3mm/60 to 100
(b) Combined Coral/Shell (Aragonite) and Silt/Clay Content to be not more than 15%.
(c) Pumice content to be not more than 15%.
(d) Shall not contain any debris, peat, unsuitable organic materials or pumice lumps of aggregate sizes.
