Its made up of coconut. Coir pith is the last dust of coir material others are used for mats and other things coir pith is used for articulture.
Coconut coir pith absorbs oil, coolants, solvents and other oily materials that float on water. Coconut coir pith is entirely nontoxic. It is light in weight and creates very little dust even when thrown a considerable distance onto a surface from which oil is to be absorbed. Coconut coir powder has an absorption capacity of 1.5% which can increase the absorptive strength of the coconut fibre. This indicates that the potential of water absorption by coconut husk is quite good. Coconut coir pith absorbs more than one gallon of oil per pound. It is a unique coir-based absorbent naturally possesses far superior absorption.
