Coconut coir pith absorbs oil, coolants, solvents and other oily materials that float on water. Coconut coir pith is entirely nontoxic. It is light in weight and creates very little dust even when thrown a considerable distance onto a surface from which oil is to be absorbed. Coconut coir powder has an absorption capacity of 1.5% which can increase the absorptive strength of the coconut fibre. This indicates that the potential of water absorption by coconut husk is quite good. Coconut coir pith absorbs more than one gallon of oil per pound. It is a unique coir-based absorbent naturally possesses far superior absorption.

Cocopeat is a multipurpose growing medium made out of coconut husk. The fibrous coconut husk is pre washed, machine dried, sieved and made free from sand and other contaminations such as animal and plant residue. Cocopeat is a very good alternative to traditional peat moss and Rock wool. Its air-filled porosity and high-water holding capacity makes it, an ideal growing medium for the plant crops. It is 100% organic and eco-friendly, free from soil borne pathogen and weed. Coconut Husk Processing : Coconut husks are processed at our Coconut Fibre Mills to extract coir fibre, leaving behind the by-product a spongy material that binds the coconut fibre in the husk â?? the coco coir or the coco peat, the main raw material for the Coco Coir based Growing Medium. 2. Washing of Raw Cocopeat : Coir Pith is washed with fresh water to lower the electrical conductivity which is a measure of the salt content, so that plants roots can absorb water efficiently and effectively. 3. Drying of Washed Cocopeat : Wet Coir pith is then sun-dried in concrete yards to reduce the moisture content to the right value to achieve the required compaction. 4. Sorting : Dried Coir Pith are sorted based on their electrical conductivity and moisture level. 5. Sifting & Sieving : Sorted Coir Pith is sifted and sieved to remove the fine dust particles and extract the right sized grains as per the growing medium specification. 6. Compaction of Cocopeat : Substrate mixture is compacted in hydraulic presses to the required size as per clientâ??s requirement. 7. Pack & Dispatch : Packed as per the specifications (shrink wrapped with / without label or packed in cartons) and are then moved to our stock warehouse for palletising and shipment.
