Insect Repellent: Neem oil contains compounds such as azadirachtin, which have insecticidal and repellent properties. Neem oil disrupts the growth and development of insect pests, inhibiting their feeding, reproduction, and metamorphosis.
Organic Pest Control: Neem oil is commonly used as a component of organic pest control formulations and botanical insecticides. When diluted with water and applied as a foliar spray, it acts as a natural insecticide, repelling or killing pests while minimizing harm to beneficial insects and pollinators.
Antifungal Properties: Neem oil exhibits antifungal activity against a variety of plant pathogens, including powdery mildew, rust, black spot, leaf spot, and damping-off diseases. Neem oil is extracted from Neem kernel by cold pressed rotary system in-order to maintain the naturally occurring organic compound.
Cold pressed Neem oil is a mixture of several C26 terpenoids which are naturally occurring organic compounds. Azadirachtin is the most common terpenoid in cold pressed Neem oil, the most thoroughly characterised and is a federally registered active ingredient pesticide. Cold pressed Neem oil also contains steroids, fatty acids, and a number of essential oils.
Presence of Azadirachtin in neem oil reduces insect feeding and acts as a repellent. Research has demonstrated that the spray solution of cold pressed Neem oil helps to control common pests such as white flies, aphids, scales, mealy bugs, spider mites, locusts, thrips, and Japanese beetles. It also interferes with insect hormone systems, making it harder for insects to grow and lay eggs. Azadirachtin can also repel and reduce the feeding of nematodes. Other components of neem oil kill insects by hindering their ability to feed.
