Dragon fruit is a berry, oval in shape with many green leaves (due to the remaining flower blade), and the tip of the fruit is deeply concave into a cavity. When young, the fruit skin is green, when ripe it turns pinkish red. The flesh of the fruit is mostly white, with a few varieties having yellow or red flesh. The shell can be peeled off quite easily from the intestines.
