Cashew Grades Cashew Kernels are graded into white / scorched wholes, splits, butts etc. Depending on the shape, size & colour of the kernel. There are various different grades of cashew kernels, but few grades are commercially available and traded. They are: W180, is the King of Cashew They are larger in size and very expensive. W 210, are popularly known as Jumb nuts. W 240, it is an attractive grade which is reasonably priced. W 320, are the most popular among cashew kernels and highest in terms of availability, worldwide. W450, are the smallest and cheapest white whole kernels and hence the favorite among low priced whole grades.
Raw in-shell cashew nuts W210 are whole cashew nuts that are still enclosed within their natural shells and have not undergone any roasting or processing. The "W210" designation refers to the size of the cashew kernel, indicating that there are around 210 nuts per pound. These cashew nuts are relatively large in size and offer a satisfying crunch when cracked open. They have a creamy texture and a mild, buttery flavor characteristic of cashews. Cracking the shells of raw in-shell cashew nuts W210 can be done using a nutcracker or by applying gentle pressure. Once the shells are opened, the edible cashew kernels can be enjoyed as a snack, used in recipes, or further processed, such as roasting or grinding into cashew butter. It's worth noting that the shells of cashew nuts contain a toxic resin called urushiol, so care should be taken when cracking them open to avoid contact with the resin. Proper storage in a cool, dry place will help maintain the freshness and quality of raw in-shell cashew nuts.
