Unlike contact cards,Contactless smart cards apply an embedded antenna that is attached to the chip to transfer information stored in the chip's memory to a remote computer. Contactless cards do not have to be inserted into a card acceptor device. They need only be delivered within range of a radio frequency acceptor to read and store information in the chip.
