1. DYQ3 series liquid resistor starter is a new starting device for improving the starting capability of large and medium slip ring asynchronously and low-voltage squirrel-cage motor. The old-fashioned starting instruments ----adjustable rheostat, oil- immersed rheostat and cast iron rheostat ---have many disadvantages such as: having strong impact current (about 3-5 times for rated current in general) and cant bring a ideal effect etc., but all of the disadvantages can be overcome by the DYQ3 series liquid resistor starter. The DYQ3 series is used a special liquid resistor to be connected in series to the rotor circuit of large and medium slip ring motor, the liquid resistor get to work when the motor starting and it can automatic, stepless and continuous removal during the preset time, then the motor can start smoothly under ideal starting current condition. Eventually the motor can accelerate balanced. This plays an important role in protection of motor, electric equipment, power system and saving electricity. As well as the well-designed of system starting, stop, error protection, communication and display, making the liquid resistor starter have high degree of automation, small starting current (less than 1.3 times for rated current in general), can start successfully when power system have low voltage, and reducing the capacity of transformer remarkably. Working principle A special liquid is used for DYQ3 series liquid resistor starters resistor. In series of motor rotor circuit, polar plate is connected in a special designed liquid resistance box. When the motor starts, the liquid resistors resistance gradually decrease by moving the relative position of polar plate which drive by a small power servomotor, then the motor can start smoothly. 6. Installation and debugging 7.1 installation and connection: 7.1.1. Control cabinet and resistor cubicle should be installed on the cement platform in which the water can easily drain; we should ensure that cabinet perpendicular to the horizontal and cabinet be fixed on the platforms channel steel. There should be cable channel under the control cabinet. 7.1.2. Put the electric cable (the cable should load enough current) of motor rotor in the starter control cabinet and connect it according to electric principle scheme, then connect the interlock control line. 7.1.3. Check the correction of line and thetightness of fastener. 7.1.4. Check the insulation resistance between liquid resistor and ground, the resistance should more than 5M¦¸ 7.2 Debugging: 7.2.1. Check the condition of liquid resistance boxs site and polar plates movement. Pick up the moving polar plate directly without liquid resistor, check its flexibility, if the result is no so good, should regulate the site of the liquid resistance box. 7.2.2. When primary circuit open in main motor, once closing the QF1 in start cabinet, the polar plate should move towards to reset key, or QF1 should be opened immediately, then exchange any two power lines of A, B, C three-phase, switching the test button SA, check the start working condition normal or not, then cut off SA, check the starter stop condition normal or not. 7.2.3. Compound liquid resistor 7.2.3.1 Pour pure water into the resistance box until its volume reach 80% of the boxs 7.2.3.2 Put three bags powder in three separate grooves, then add pure water again and make the liquid level keeping 5mm distance between the tank cap. 7.2.3.3 Switching the lifting motor, let polar plate go up and down several times, so that the liquid resistance can mix excellent. 7.3 Test the machine: Observe that whether the start current less than 1.3-3.5 times of rated current or not, if it is, the machine can put into use successfully; if not, the concentration of liquid resistance should be regulated, and please refer to the use and maintain parts to learn the detailed regulated methods. 8. Operation: 8.1 Startup (1). Closing the isolating switch for power supply of primary circuit (2). Energizing the starter, then the light of power and reset are illumed, polar plate reset automatically, then the light of allowing start is illumed, this indicate that the machine can start smoothly (3). Push the charge button, after charge process ending, push the start button, then the main motor start work and allowing start light is turned off, start light is illumed. When the start process ending, the machine start work automatically, then start light is turned off and the run light is illumed. 8.2 Close down Push the stop button, then the motor can stop work automatically, and the starter can reset automatically, so that it can prepare for next starting 9. Use and maintain If the power light is illumed, but allowing start light is not illumed, please check the liquid level, limit switch, contactor and elevator until allowing start light is illumed, then can go on starting. When the machine need stop no matter with what reason, please cut down the main switch. Its forbidden that switchoff the starters power when the main motor is also working. When overhaul is ending, starter empty-load test like start, run etc. should be processed under main motor is not started, in order to confirm everything is normal, then the starter can be used. Generally the start controller can be stopped automatically when something wrong, so it can be maintained without delay. Please pay special attention to checking the limit switch- SX1 or SX2 is working normally regularly (half a year), and checking the level of liquid resistor regularly (half a year), if it is too low (less than 50mm), the liquid resistance or water should be addedimmediately, in the process of adding, please prevent the flashing of liquid, otherwise the insulation will be damaged. Change the liquid resistance regularly (4 to 5 years), at the same time clean the polar plate and the insulated box, the specific techniques are as follow: firstly remove the oxide on the polar plate using diluted hydrochloric acid, then clean it with water; clean the box with water and dry it in the air first, then use PVC anti-corrosion glue coat the surface of polar plate several times, generally the box is not suitable for disassembly cleaning. Please check the condition and the contact of KM1, when the running current of main motor is too weak or the start liquid temperature is too high (more than 60 ) under the condition of starter empty-load test is normal; if the start current is too strong, pure water should be added because the liquid resistance is become weak. Caution: the overhaul of the starter must be operated with technician! Please preserve this instruction well, in order to making your overhaul easy. Please provide the motor parameters, such as model, power, rated voltage of stator V1e, rated current of stator I1e, rated current of rotor I2e and open circuit voltage of rotor V2e. 10.2. single starter can be provided if control circuit exist. 10.3.
