Features Specifications: Membrane Switches with Embedded LED's A membrane switch with embedded LED's is generally described as a thin, low profile, micro-motion front panel keypad, utilizing one or more layers of polyester. Screen printed conductors are printed on each layer, and pressure-sensitive adhesives are used to bond the polyester layers together. The assembly may also include passive electronic components, such as resistors or capacitors that are adhered to the membrane switch substrate using conductive adhesive technology. Other options that are often provided on the front panel include an adhesive mounting sheet to attach the keypad to a housing or sheet metal bracket, and a graphic overlay - which provides the cosmetic appeal that is most often associated with a touchpad assembly. The display panel would include either tactile or non-tactile switches as part of the front panel. Thus, a bonded assembly can also be described as a non-tactile, or tactile, membrane switch assembly.
