Eucalyptus oil (cajuput oil, oleum-melaleuca-cajeputi, or oleum cajeputi) is produced from distilling the leaves and twigs of eucalyptus (M. leucadendra) which is a secondary metabolite produced by this tree. This essential oil is used as a medicinal oil, can be consumed orally (drink) or, more commonly, rubbed onto parts of the body. Its benefits are as a body warmer, muscle relaxant, and preventing flatulence. This oil contains mainly eucalyptol (1,8-cineol) (the most abundant component, about 60% , �±-terpineol and its acetate ester, �±-pinene, and limonene.
