Polycarbonate (PC for short) is a high molecular polymer containing carbonate groups in its molecular chain. It is an amorphous, odorless and transparent thermoplastic engineering plastic. Its high strength makes it resistant to impact and fracture. It is lightweight so an excellent alternate to glass. PC is melted and forced into a mold with high pressure to give it the desired shape. It is widely used owing to its eco-friendly processing and recyclability. It can be processed by either injection moulding or extrusion.
