Among the most important uses of cotton - the clothing industry - the manufacture of medical cotton and others, in addition to the oil extracted from its seed, and animal feed. Cotton is divided into three types according to the length of its staple: a) Short staple cotton: It is the one whose staple length is less than an inch, and it is usually coarse in texture with little flexibility. b) Medium staple cotton: The staple length ranges between an inch. c) Long staple cotton: It is the one whose staple length is more than an inch.
