Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the mesocarp of the fruit of the oil palm. It's colour is reddish because of the high betacaroteene content. Palm oil is one of the few highly saturated vegetable fats. it is semi-solid at room temperature and has saturated and unsaturated fats. It is mostly used for cooking in tropical Africa, south-east Asia and Brazil. Used in production of margarine, cereals, crisp, sweets, baked goods, soaps, washing powders and cosmetics. it can be used in animal feed stuffs and as a bio fuel. Palm oil can be found in southeasten parts of Nigeria mostly Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi states. They are equally found in the south-south zone of Nigeria. They are of great economic crops great investment potentials for investors. They can be processed and sent to various parts of the world.
