The fiber is cut into 0.5 to 2.5 cm fibers and compressed into balls. These cut fibers are used in mulching and hydro seeding mixtures in agriculture. The use of chopped fibers in seeding mixtures provides a better medium for seed germination. The coconut fiber in the coconut fiber mulch ensures the structural stability of the hydro mulch mix.
