Gum rosin or refined gum rosin is a kind of natural resin, mainly composed of various kinds of resin acids; it can be dissolved easily in many organic solvents and has special chemical activity. So, it is an important raw material for the production of paper, coatings, inks, rubber, soaps, electronic industrial products, food grade ester gum, rosin ester resins etc.
Pentaerythritol ester of modified gum rosin are made from gum rosin, light-colored gum rosin or stabilized rosin through esterification with and resin additive;have the character of light color, high softening point, superior heat stability and weather resistance, especially suitable for hot melt adhesives. Pentaerythritol resin is composited by pentaerythritol ester with modified rosin or light color rosin, and becomes irregular transparent granular solid after vacuum treatment which is widely used as viscosifier in adhesives industry. This product has excellent heat-resistance, anti-aging, good stability, compatibility, solubility, surface resistance and good color retention. Production feature: 1. It can melt in cyclohexane, toluene, xylene, petroleum ether, ester, acetone and other organic solvents 5. Good intermiscibility. It can be in the formation of a wide range of transparent system with nr, cr, eva and other polymer. Production application: 1. Hot melt adhesive: eva glue stick, book binding glue, wood glue. 2. They are used in paint widely, and have good admixture with nitro-cotton, they are applicable to produce nitrocellulose lacquer. The color of production is light and keeps good retention. On the other hand, they are used in ink and glossing paper.
