Dove prism is a kind of reflection prism used for image reflection.Dove prisms are formed by truncated rectangular prisms.A beam of light enters one of the slanted faces of the prism, fully reflects from inside the longest (bottom) face, and then exits from the opposite slanted face. The image through the prism is flipped, and since only one reflection occurs, the handedness of the image is reversed.Dove prisms have an interesting property that when they rotate along the vertical axis, the transmitted image rotates twice as fast as the prism. It is very important that applications use parallel or collimating beams and keep the large square reflector very clean.Another application is as an inverse. Porro Prism A refracting optical prism used in optical instruments to modify image orientation, In use, the light enters through the largest rectangular plane in the prism, passes through two total reflections of the inclined plane, and then penetrates the original plane of incidence, Because the light comes in and out normally, the prism does not disperse. But the image that passes through Porro prism will be flipped 180 degrees, and it will travel in the direction it entered, which means it will travel 180 degrees. Wedge prism has plane inclined surfaces. It deflects light toward its thicker portion. It can be used individually to deflect a beam to a special angle. Two wedge prisms work together can assembly an anamorphic prism to correct the elliptical shape of laser beam. The wedge prism is ideal for laser beam steering applications. By combining two wedge prisms which can be rotate individually, we can direct the input beam to anywhere within the cone angle ¸d, where ¸d is 4x the specified angular deviation of one wedge Wedge Prism Specifications Material BK7, UV Fused Silica, or customer request. Anamorphic Prism Pairs are used to transform elliptical laser diode beams into nearly circular beams. Because the prisms are set near Brewster's angle and with AR coating customized to the angle of the index SF11 glass, an average throughput of 95% can be achieved. Roof Prism A roof prism is a reflective optical prism to make two cross beams be parallel with each other. It contains a section where two faces meet at a 90 angle. These two 90 faces resemble the roof of a building, giving this prism type its name. Reflection from the two 90° faces returns an image that is flipped laterally across the axis where the faces meet. In some cases, passing through the prism, the image is both deflected right-to-left and top-to-bottom. The hypotenuse of the prism utilizes total internal reflection (TIR) to reflect the image through the prism. Polarization states may become rotated during reflection. As a rich experienced manufacturer, substrate material in Photonchina can be chosen from all optical glasses (N-BK7, for instance), Fused Silica, Si, ZnSe, ZnS, CaF2, MgF2 etc.
Photonchina has been focusing on dove prism manufacture for more than decades in order to meet demands of customers worldwide in applications ranging from image displaying to fiber communications. Dove prism is a type of reflective prism which is used to invert an image. These prisms are shaped from a truncated right-angle prism. A beam of light entering one of the sloped faces of the prism undergoes total internal reflection from the inside of the longest (bottom) face and emerges from the opposite sloped face. Images passing through the prism are flipped, and because only one reflection takes place, the image's handedness is changed to the opposite sense. If you look through the prism and rotate it around a longitudinal axis, the image rotates through twice the angle through which the dove prism itself rotates. For optimal performance, you may use dove prisms with collimated light. The top surface of each dove prism is ground and the longest length features an unbeveled sharp edge. Dove Prisms are offered uncoated, with anti-reflection coated diagonal faces, or with aluminized diagonal faces. Aluminized dove prisms feature a protected aluminum coating with black Krylon paint on the diagonal faces and are ideal for displaced retroreflection. They provide a u-turn for incident laser beam light.
All kinds of bespoke optical prisms: equilateral prisms, 45 degree right-angle prisms, rhombic prisms, dove prisms, penta prisms, right angle roof prisms, polarizing beamsplitter cubes (PBS), beamsplitter cubes, etc.
BK7 Glass Powell Lens PARAMETER: The Powell lens is a quantum leap forward in line generator performance over the simple cylinder lens. A cylinder lens produces a poorly illuminated line, one limited by the non-uniform, Gaussian laser beam. The Powell lens' rounded roof is in fact a complex two-dimensional aspheric curve that generates a tremendous amount of spherical aberration that redistributes the light along the line; decreasing the light in the central area while increasing the light level at the line's ends. The result is a very uniformly illuminated line used in all manner of machine vision applications; from bio-medical and automobile assembly to chocolate chip cookie production. The Customized Powell Prism resembles a round prism with a curved roof line. The lens is a laser line generator, stretching a narrow laser beam into a uniformly illuminated straight line . PARAMETER: Rhombic prisms are used to displace a beam laterally without changing its direction. They may be coated to transmit part of the beam and produce two parallel and displaced emerging beams. Can be coated to produce a polarizing beam separator. These prisms are manufactured from either BK7A or Fused Silica. Rhomboid Prism with Coating are supplied uncoated but many coating options are available. Rhomboid prisms are commonly used to displace a laser beam without changing its direction. In imaging applications, rhomboid prisms will displace the optical axis without inverting the image. The lateral displacement is equal to the length of the prism. Specification. Optical Components Fused Silica Wedge Prism PARAMETER: The wedge prism is a prism with a shallow angle between its input and output surfaces. This angle is usually 3 degrees or less. Refraction at the surfaces causes the prism to deflect light by a fixed angle. When viewing a scene through such a prism, objects will appear to be offset by an amount that varies with their distance from the prism. The right angle prisms are often preferable to an inclined mirror in applications involving severe acoustic or inertial loads, because they are easier to mount, and deform much less than mirror in response to external mechanical stress. As long as acceptance angle limitations for TIR from the roof faces are not exceeded, the right angle prisms can serve as a retro reflector, turning beams back to the original direction.Right-angle prism is the most common type of prisms. It is used to re-direct a beam of light at 90 degrees from the the incident direction or used as a 180 beam retro-reflector. They are often coated with various optical coatings to form cubic beam splitters and color separation cubes used in various projection systems. Right angle prism is better than reflector in the strict acoustics system and inertia burthen. This is because the right angle prism is easier to install. And it is not easy to deformation in exterior machine pressure. The bevel used as the surface of total internal reflection, the incident plane and the exit facet plated ar film, so it can get very good transmittance. On the other hand, the bevel plated metalized films, so it can used to be external reflection. Used for routing a collimated beam of light through 90 or 180 via total internal reflection, depending on orientation. Also used for image rotation, for retro reflection, and as an external reflector.
