Initially, the corn undergoes soaking in sulfurous acid, resulting in steep liquor containing protein, minerals, vitamins, and energy sources. The swollen kernel then undergoes extraction to isolate starch and oil. The remaining fiber or bran is combined with the steep liquor. The resulting wet corn gluten feed can be dried to approximately 90 percent dry matter, referred to as Dry Corn Gluten Feed.
